Pi Flags Off Its Ambitious Project #PiKochi !
Kochi, 5th July 2019: Pi DATACENTERS has kicked off the project to build the first Uptime Institute TIER IV certified data center at Kochi, a major undersea cable landing station, in the Indian state of Kerala.
The idea of setting up this next generation data center at Kochi supports the purpose of the Digital India initiative. Pi aims harnessing the power of connectivity for digitalizing all corners of India and improve the daily life of every citizen of the country. “We are on a mission to take Digital-India to the very last mile and to that very last house”, said Kalyan Muppaneni, Founder & CEO, Pi DATACENTERS.
Aptly named as Pi Kochi, this state-of-the-art greenfield data center is being set up at Infopark Phase-II across six acres of land with an investment of Rs. 400 crores. The facility would be fully operational by March 2020.
The project kick off ceremony at Four Points By Sheraton, Infopark, Kochi, saw dignitaries Shri. M Sivasankar IAS, IT Secretary for the State of Kerala, Shri S Suhas IAS, District Collector of Ernakulam district and Shri Hrishikesh Nair, CEO of Infopark, Kochi, gracing the occasion. The event also saw the Pi Kochi logo and the datacenter prototype being unveiled in front of an audience comprising of Business leaders across Indian and Global Industry and the media fraternity.
