Cloud Platform: Market intelligence today shows a constant rise in public cloud IaaS revenues at a 28.2% CAGR from 2015-2020, from $12.6 billion to $43.6 billion.

The staggering hike in numbers owes to the fact that nearly 2/3 of more than 6,000 IT organizations surveyed have either already adopted to or planning to use public cloud IaaS by the end of the year.

The growth trend for public cloud IaaS has been a constant evidence of growing adoption for the same. The rate stood at around 51% in 2015 and is predicted by research biggies to be around 41% this year and in 2017.

Why the drop in rate?

The cloud solution range has widened the options for organizations today, to choose from, for better optimization.

The solution stack around managed private cloud services continues to improve as the industry/application/organization specific requirements lead the course. Owing to the same, the public cloud use is being optimized, causing a narrowed growth rate.

Enterprise-scale organizations today, are also taking the path of a hybrid cloud infrastructure for a higher optimization. Researches show 80 % of IT organizations would adopt a hybrid cloud strategy by 2018.

With increasing adoption rates and the technology renaissance, the industry is observing the revenue realization for all players would be growing along.

The usage barriers with respect to architecture availability are fading off, resulting in an offshoot for higher adoption. OpenStack shows to be a highly used technology over the past years.

The industry is also witnessing a rise in regional public cloud services, based on OpenStack. Researches show a continued growth in regional public cloud services providers over the coming years while data sovereignty takes the center stage amidst changes in regulatory frameworks. The industry is also actively looking out for regional alternatives for to global public cloud services providers.
